Introduction

I am a full time professional photographer who wanted a web site which I couldn't afford to commission so I went to collage and learnt how to do it, I got the site building bug as a hobby and having made many sites for my business and friends I am now able to offer web sites for clients in Worcestershire and the West Midlands

My Approach

I am a big fan of keeping things simple and straight forward - creating and crafting clean looking sites that give the viewer exactly what they want as easily as possible. There are over 81,655,992 web sites on the internet - 70% of the uk population now use the internet regularly - a web presence is vital for any business.

  • To give credibility to your company
  • To help existing customers better
  • To help market your service or products

Your customers are on the web right now!

Most UK businesses use the Internet to find potential suppliers and find information to help with their business decisions. If you do not have a website you are missing business when you cant be found on the net..

Your business credibility is at stake

All customers now expect a business they deal with to have a website. If you tell a potential customer that you don't have a website ( or they see you only have a home-made one ) then you have a credibility problem. A professional looking website is a must have for every business these days.

It's hard to justify NOT having a website

It's now more difficult to justify NOT having a website than to justify the small cost of having a simple professionally designed presence on the web Just look at these statistics

  • There are 36 m internet users in the UK - that’s over 6 in 10 people
  • The average time spent online per day is just under 2 hours
  • Internet users visit an average of 2,805 pages each month
  • Half of all users have researched a purchase online before buying

There is no other medium that allows you to promote your business online 24-hours a day, 7-days a week - and the costs of getting a basic business website can be a lot less than a one-off press advert.

Legal requirements on your website

The name, geographic address and email address of the service or product provider. The name of the organization with which the customer is contracting must be given.  This might differ from the trading name. Any such difference should be explained . "XYZ.com is the trading name of XYZ Enterprises Limited."

It is not sufficient to include a 'contact us' form without also providing an email address and geographic address somewhere easily accessible on the site. A registered office address will suffice as a geographic address. If the business is a company, the registered office address must be included.

If a company, the company's registration number should be given and, under the Companies Act, the place of registration should be stated (e.g. "XYZ Enterprises Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 1234567") If the business is a member of a trade or professional association, membership details, including any registration number, should be provided.
  • If the business has a VAT number, it should be stated – even if the website is not being used for e-commerce transactions.
  • Prices on the website must be clear and unambiguous. Also, state whether prices are inclusive of tax and delivery costs.
